East Midlands Orchid Society Monthly Meeting

January 18, 2026 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Details of this month’s meeting

To be confirmed

General Information

Our meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month from September to June at 1.30pm.  Guest speakers are invited to visit and give illustrated talks on all aspects of orchid growing. Often the speakers are specialist amateur growers who pass on some of their expertise. Sometimes the speakers are from nurseries and they bring plants for sale. At other times, the speakers may be concerned with orchids in the wild.

Display tables are an important part of our meetings and members are encouraged to bring any flowering plants they have for others to appreciate. The society  has a number of qualified British Orchid Council  judges who will give constructive criticism of the plants displayed.

Venue

Our meetings are usually held in the village hall at Bottesford Nottinghamshire, approx. ½ mile from the A52 Nottingham to Grantham road.

Bottesford is situated just off the A52 Nottingham to Grantham road, approx 7 miles from the A1 and 14 miles from Nottingham. When approaching from the A1 ignore the first right hand turn for Bottesford and continue to the crossroad signposted right for Bottesford and Normanton, the village hall is on the right hand side just after the cricket ground. From Nottingham, ignore the first left hand turn and again proceed to the crossroad signposted Bottesford and Normanton
