Join Bournemouth Orchid Society for their ever evolving and popular Autumn Show, a season highlight packed with learning, colour, hands-on activities, and a superb range of orchids from growers across the region.
What’s New This Year
RHS Orchid Expert Group Committee Meeting
The RHS Expert Orchid Group will hold its September judging meeting during the show. Members with plants suitable for putting before the committee are encouraged to bring them along, and Bournemouth committee members will be available to guide anyone submitting plants for the first time.
Expanded Learning Zone – Mini Lab
A larger Mini-Lab with additional microscopes invites visitors of all ages to explore the microscopic world of orchids. This hands-on learning space continues to grow in recognition that interactive discovery builds confidence and understanding.
New Orchid-Themed Carrier Bags
Colourful BOS carrier bags will be available to purchase at the Membership Desk.
Orchids on Display
Expect a vibrant mix of orchids from Bournemouth members, visiting orchid societies and from the trade. After this year’s hot summer, it will be fascinating to see how plants have responded — from species to hybrids, beginners plants to show-bench contenders.

Kids’ Craft Activities (Free)
Bournemouth Orchid Society continues its commitment to encouraging younger visitors with hands on creative activities:
Decorate a pot and pot up your free orchid
Colour, cut out and assemble your own orchid sculpture
Children enter free with a fee-paying adult
Previously we would not have come to an orchid show with our children, but todays activities for children were great and we all enjoyed the show as a family.
I’m now going to grow an orchid and it will bebig, bright pink, very beautiful and better than my Dad’s orchids!
